Imogen Roberts: SHE/HER

I am dedicated to holding an open and supportive environment where individuals can delve into life's more complex aspects. I believe in the transformative power of feeling seen and heard, driving me to empower my clients, facilitate self-discovery, and assist them in making positive changes to achieve their goals.

I adopt an integrative approach tailored to the unique needs and objectives of each client. Drawing from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Person-centred therapy, and Narrative therapy, I strive to provide a sensitive and personalized therapeutic experience. My work is grounded in trauma-informed care with emphasis on attachment theory.

My professional background includes practicing in high schools and tertiary institutions, supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds. Before training in counselling, I was a teacher aide for students with high needs relating to behavioural challenges and disabilities.

I have guided clients and couples through various challenges, including issues related to self-esteem, shame, gender, sexuality, relationships, intimacy, communication, depression, anxiety, and academic struggles. My passion is to assist individuals to understand and accept themselves, reclaim their power and re-establish meaningful connections with themselves and others.

I identify as pansexual and I'm a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community. Outside of my counselling practice, I am deeply passionate about music and film, enjoy reading, taking long walks, and cherishing moments with loved ones.

I'm a provisionally registered counsellor with NZAC, having completed a Bachelor of Health Science with a major in counselling. I am available for sessions on Tuesdays (in person and online) and Wednesdays (online only).
